Rescue page (pkt mask postion)The highlight of the ‘Yongala Dive’ Rescue Course will be you get to make some of your open water rescue scenarios on the dive site of the S.S. YONGALA shipwreck. Can you think of a better place?

Why become a Rescue Diver..?

This course is highly recommended to all scuba divers to give you the confidence and new skills to handle many situations which could occur during diving. You will role play as the “victim” and “the rescuer” throughout your training, there is no “perfect” way to conduct a rescue, what you will learn is how to conduct an “effective” rescue.

What you need to know about the course?

The course is an “in-water” course so the theory is conducted partly in the student’s own time and partly in the classroom, therefore you will need to collect your PADI Rescue Diver manual at least the day before your course commences to enable you to start reading and completing the necessary knowledge reviews.

There are four final scenarios you will be evaluated on to pass this course;

  • Scenario 1 – Distressed Diver Underwater with Extremity Injury
  • Scenario 2 – Distressed Divers on the Surface
  • Scenario 3 – Unresponsive Diver Underwater
  • Scenario 4 – Unresponsive Diver on the Surface and exiting the Unresponsive Diver + Administer First Aid

Before you are tested with the final scenarios you will learn 10 rescue exercises under the guidance of your PADI Instructor.
